About the Project

When this couple relocated from Colorado to be closer to family, they fell in love with the Central West End and found a home with the space and character they were looking for. The goal was to make it truly theirs, built to support how they live now and how they want to live for years to come. The home had an unfinished basement, a disconnected floor plan, and no accessible way to move between levels. For a household planning ahead for long-term comfort and mobility, that had to change. The centerpiece of the project was elevator access throughout all three floors, including the basement. Because the elevator required taking over the existing basement stairwell, we designed and built an entirely new foyer staircase that tucks neatly beneath the existing spiral stair, preserving flow and adding architectural character in the process. The basement was fully transformed from unfinished space into a functional lower level with two bedrooms, a bathroom, a gym, a laundry room, and a dedicated crafts room. Upstairs, we reconfigured the second floor to add a bedroom, replaced carpet throughout, and repainted the entire home. The living room received floor-to-ceiling cabinetry built around a new fireplace, with quality millwork throughout that gives the space a warm, settled-in feel built to last.
