Tasked with renewing a turn of the century ensuite—largely untouched since the home was built in 1898—our goal was to respectfully evolve the space, preserving its century-old character while introducing modern function. We achieved a timeless result through meticulous detailing: the original tub was reglazed and refitted; a spacious shower was introduced with unlacquered brass fixtures; and a custom quartersawn oak vanity was designed to complement the home's existing woodwork. A special piece was custom-milled for the wall to precisely match the outline of the vanity’s marble, further highlighting the seamless integration. By refinishing original dressing cabinets, unlacquering existing hardware for a natural patina, and drawing inspiration for the custom millwork and tile format from the home's period detailing, the final product is a serene, elegant space that feels both thoughtfully renewed and authentically enduring.
